Medical Brigade Update

By Barbara Hoffmeier, Alice Hoffmeier, and Kathy Bonet ( LWML leaders from Michigan, Iowa, and Illinois)

Our last day of the brigade took us to Ministerio Apostolico Palabra Revelada (The Ministry of the Revealed Word). This is Scarleth’s church, who is a ten year veteran dentist for WGO. The routine ran smoothly with the help of the Collaborators, the Honduran version of LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.) Many were ministered to and helped with medical and dental needs. Children’s ministry was a joy and busy place all day. It’s so wonderful to see our pastors serve the Lord with gladness as they told the story of Jesus using the witness bracelets and washing the lice out of their hair.

The total number of people for the week receiving medical assistance was 1351, filled 5,400 prescriptions, dental attention 182, heads of children washed 304, and we evangelized to 850 people which includes 124 people that have accepted Christ for the first time! Praise the Lord for our new brothers and sisters!

We have always begun and ended our day with group devotions, this one was special as we shared our hearts and ended with prayer on the balcony over looking the city lights.

God is good all the time. All the time God is good.

Dios es Beuno todo el tiempo. El tiempo Dios es Bueno.

Construction Team Update

By Gerry Werth

We wrapped up the week with more mudding of drywall, varnishing doors and bookcases, but all in all the high school class rooms are looking very good, and are ready for texturing and painting. The bathrooms are finished with the plumbing, and drywall as well as the first coat of joint compound. The doors on the lower floor even have the outside trim molding installed. In the evening, we spent time with two of the house families, and played ping pong with the teenagers....needless to say, they beat us every time, although we tried hard to beat them.

Everyone is very tired, ready to come home, and we have been richly blessed.
