Medical Brigade Update
By Matt Newcomb and Gail Gaiser
So, we started the day early and left the Mission House even earlier than that. We drove, and then drove some more up and down winding narrow streets to arrive at the Iglesia Principe de Paz (Prince of Peace Church). Along the way, the bus came to a sudden stop. Well, after some time of confusion, we realized that one of the translators had to go and use the long handled broom to lift up the live (yes, live) electrical wires crossing the intersection Where’s OSHA?. After spending time enjoying the Honduran organizational skills, the many, many people who live in huts made of wood with no running water started to filter through the system.
We had Children’s Ministry stations with a Gospel Presentation and hair washing; we had the medical teams performing clinical diagnosis, the dentists mostly taking out teeth, and the pharmacists dispensing lots and lots of medications. The Evangelism team listened to heart wrenching stories of pain, numerous children, and uncertainty of their spiritual future. A concrete team laid a new concrete floor for a single parent in the neighborhood. A huge blessing for her family to upgrade to concrete from dirt!
All in all, it was a great day and we are all very, very tired…and looking forward to getting up again around 5:00 or 5:30 for devotions tomorrow and another repeat of today, meaning same place and same time!!!! We look forward to the opportunity to do God’s work in this vineyard with His help. The experiences today were amazing and we really are blessed by our Mighty God to have been called on this mission adventure.
Thank you all for many prayers and we ask that you keep them coming!!

Construction Brigade Update
By Gerry Werth
After a relaxing Sunday at church, the El Patio restaurant, and some free time the rest of the afternoon, we hit the ground running Monday morning. Several of us were varnishing door trim and the doors on the high school building. Three of the new doors required sanding, and then they got the first coat of varnish. Two members of the team tackled the task of finishing the plumbing for the boys and girls bathrooms, and at least three spent the entire day putting the joint tape and joint compound on the drywall. At the end of the day we were all amazed at how much we accomplished, and ALSO how sore our muscles are.
But...It's a good sore!
